IFT20 to Transition to Virtual Experience

After thoughtful consultation with leaders and partners within the food industry and academia, IFT’s Board of Directors made the decision to transition the onsite annual meeting and food expo into a virtual experience. This was felt to be the best and safest course of action after careful consideration of evolving COVID-19 pandemic developments.

Our industry plays an important role in ensuring the global food supply is safe, nutritious, and sustainable. Due to this, it was important to provide a safe and globally accessible solution to convene our community in their pursuit of advancing the science of food and food innovation—a purpose that is more important today than ever before.
The Board decided to make this decision now to allow time to successfully transition to a virtual platform and to allow our valued attendees, exhibitors, and stakeholders the time needed to make necessary travel and planning adjustments.
We are excited about this new virtual direction as it provides our community an even more inclusive opportunity to support IFT’s overarching purpose of gathering the global science of food and food innovation community together to share, learn, connect, and inspire the future of food.
IFT staff are currently working through details to support this transition and we will be sharing updates via this website and IFT’s social media sites.

Virtual Event:
A: IFT’s Board focused on an alternative solution that will provide an engaging, accessible, and inclusive platform to convene our global community, enabling us to connect, to learn, to share knowledge, and to advance the science of food and food innovation—a purpose that is more important today than ever before.

IFT is working quickly to develop an informative and engaging virtual experience, allowing participants to easily access important topics, research, and content that was originally developed for the onsite experience. The new virtual experience will also provide opportunities for participants to network, connect, and share knowledge, products, and solutions. Specifics regarding the new virtual experience will be shared in the coming weeks.

Dates:
A: IFT Staff are currently working to transition the onsite program to a virtual experience. At this time, we are looking to launch the virtual event in mid-July. We thank you in advance for your patience as staff work to develop the new virtual experience. More details regarding the virtual format and programmatic approach will be shared in the coming weeks.

A: IFT21 will take place at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL, July 18-21, 2021. The Food Expo will take place July 19-21.
