Epichlorohydrin
A colorless liquid with a pungent, garlic-like odor. Is insoluble in water but miscible with most polar organic solvents. It is flammable, toxic and carcinogenic and should not be mixed with oxidizers such as sodium chlorate. It is also highly reactive and will polymerize upon treatment with an acid or a strong base. Uses: In the manufacture of plastics, epoxy resins, phenoxy resins and other polymers, solvent for cellulose, resins and paints and also as an insect fumigant. CAS# (106-89-8)
