Sodium Thiocyanate

A colorless, odorless crystal that is one of the main sources of the thiocyanate anion. It is stable under ordinary conditions though it will decompose with exposure to light. It is also incompatible with chlorates, nitrates, peroxides, strong acids, strong oxidizing agents, and mineral acids. Uses: A precursor in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and specialty chemicals.
