
Potassium Citrate
A white, slightly hygroscopic crystalline powder with a saline taste. It is readily absorbed when given by mouth and is excreted in the urine as carbonate which makes it effective in treating the pain and frequency of highly acidic urine. Uses: The treatment of gout, arryhthmia, to render the urine alkaline, to treat kidney stones, a non-irritating diuretic, and in soft drinks as a buffering agent. CAS# (866-84-2)
