I joined TRI in 2012 as the Company’s first General Legal Counsel. My leadership of the Company expanded, and after serving as TRI’s President, I became the Company’s CEO in 2018. In 2020, I acquired a majority ownership interest in the Company and in 2021 completed my purchase of the remaining shares. I am now proud to be the sole owner and the Chief Executive Officer of TRI.
I am responsible for overseeing the day-to-day affairs of the Company’s business, as well as providing the leadership and creation of the Company’s strategic plan for the future. I serve as an executive who drives Company innovation and performance by empowering and challenging the TRI team to be both excellent and rigorous. I also bring my training as an attorney into my daily work, offering both legal guidance and my own unique pragmatism to every situation.
In addition to my work at TRI, I currently serve as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD), and Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Chemical Education Foundation.
About your education or work experience:
I obtained my BA from the University of Minnesota and my JD from the University of St. Thomas School of Law- both in Minneapolis MN. Prior to joining the TRI Team, I was a practicing attorney in the areas of business /corporate law and civil litigation. I am licensed to practice in Minnesota, Oregon, and Washington.
What sort of hobbies do you have? OR How do you typically spend your leisure time?
I love the great outdoors- hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing and camping. I also love travel, great books, yoga, hot cups of strong coffee, and the New York Times Crossword puzzle. I have a daily meditation practice, and appreciate stillness as much as I do the rush of business. I love my roles as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
What is your favorite thing about working at TRI?
I love my teammates. Every day I am grateful for the genuinely good people on this team. In addition, I find the daily business of TRI and our industry to be both challenging and fascinating.
What would you like people to know about you?
I believe who we are is reflected more in our actions than our words. I strive to be a woman of strong character. I value honesty, fairness, and humility. I do not believe there is any substitute for hard work. Most of all, I aim each day to be a woman my daughters can admire.
Other than appearance, what is the first thing that people notice about you?
I am not sure what people notice first, but it doesn’t take long for people to figure out I am good natured, while also being firm and direct. I am often overheard saying “give me the baby not the labor.” I think that sums up my personality pretty well.

I collect the bills, pay the bills, and make sure all the bills are accounted for… then I report the bills to the bank, CPAs, and IRS. In between I get to work with some really talented and committed teammates, have a little fun, and hopefully make a little money!
About your education or work experience:
I have 30+ years experience working for and managing Fortune 500 companies, and private sales & distribution organizations ranging from $10 – $100 million. I’m looking forward to taking TRI to $100 million+!
What sort of hobbies do you have? OR How do you typically spend your leisure time?
Sports (baseball, football, basketball), walking/hiking (preferably with one or both dogs), and I’m starting to get into some yoga for the strength and flexibility.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I am responsible for TRI’s daily Operations, overseeing Diversity and Government bid programs, Human Resources, Compliance, Information Technology, Marketing and Customer Service. I assist in managing the mood of the organization, help set the standards for our culture and provide development training for all departments.

About your education or work experience: My education at Seattle University embraced a foundation in the development of the whole person. I was taught the significance of being a well-rounded individual and I believe this characteristic has added to my success at work. My roles at TRI have been multifaceted and have provided me with daily opportunities to learn new skills, gain knowledge, work in teams with diverse personalities and help in the professional development of others. My education and on the job experience have directly prepared me for my current role within the organization.
What sort of hobbies do you have? OR How do you typically spend your leisure time?
My hobbies include playing slow-pitch softball, crocheting, hiking, crafting, and singing. In my leisure time I enjoy game nights, dinner parties, journaling, road trips, and travel.

There are so many wonderful qualities that have kept me at TRI for more than 15 years; our culture, our leadership, and our team. Every year I honor my grandmother’s tradition of making homemade tamales on Christmas Eve.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I would really love to learn how to woodwork. I am an avid crafter and would love to add to my repertoire of skills. Being able to create artwork and crafts in their entirety would be wonderful.

How do you typically spend your leisure time?
Visiting family in Olympia, watching my team in whatever season it may be, golfing when the Seattle weather allows it, and working on a new recipe.
From daily tasks and objectives to big-picture thinking, my role is a fundamental “glue” that brings together sales, business development, purchasing, compliance, and technology. I’m at my best when I can bring my creativity and intrigue together with my eye for efficiencies, structure, and processes to solve problems and make us better every day.
My role at TRI allows me the flexibility to cover a lot of ground day-to-day and cross over departments. Having this experience allows me to deliver marketing objectives and center TRI’s brand around what we do best. As the Director of Marketing & Business Development, my goals are to develop and deliver a marketing plan, manage our corporate brand strategy, and increase our marketplace through campaigns and exposure.

I graduated with a BA in Marketing from Seattle University and worked various roles in retail and event management throughout my youth before moving into personal banking and finance for 3 years.
I joined TRI in March of 2005 as an Operations Assistant and quickly moved into a full-time Customer Service Representative role where I learned the daily operations of the import/export business. One year later I moved up to Sales Assistant, where I supported the sales and management teams and developed a formal TRI marketing and sample program. In 2007, I proudly transitioned that role into a full-scale Marketing role and department that continues to grow through the present.
What sort of hobbies do you have?
Generally, all things outdoors, if possible, on or near water such as lakes, rivers, or ocean beaches. I spend most of my free time hiking, kayaking/canoeing, or fishing (learning how fly fish since Nov 2018 and loving it!). When not outdoors, I enjoy cooking, crafting, and spending quality time with loved ones.
